Meet our Operator

At Chick-fil-A, our franchised Operators are personally committed and involved in the daily operations of the business. Chick-fil-A Operators manage their Restaurants on a full-time, hands-on basis as their sole business venture.

Meet Ken Massey, Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A South Mopac at US Hwy 290 West and Chick-fil-A at I-35/Ben White. Ken Massey has been a Chick-fil-A Operator since 2001. “It’s my full-time job—and really my passion — to make sure your visit is always a great one. While I am part of a large organization, as an Owner-Operator, I’m actually an individual business partner of Chick-fil-A. This brings not only responsibility and accountability, which is good for Guests and our Team Members alike, it also allows me to bring a local flavor to the Restaurant.”

Ken grew up in South Texas on his parent’s farm. It was there that he first learned the values of hard work and perseverance, as well as the blessing of family and community. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas State University where he met his future wife, Melinda, and moved to the Austin area in 1984. The Masseys have been blessed with three beautiful daughters, Sarah, Anna and Amelia, as well as three wonderful sons-in-law, Chad, Ryan and Austin, and four adorable grandchildren. Their growing family has been a source of great joy, and they love spending time together. Ken and Melinda are active members of the Austin Ridge Bible Church and have made wonderful friends during their 37 years of involvement in leadership and service in the community.

“As a Chick-fil-A Operator, I know the value of investing in the amazing people that I work alongside every day. I also know that serving others is at the heart of hospitality. With that in mind, our goal as a Restaurant is to have a positive influence on each person we meet. You are our honored guest and we hope you enjoy the delicious and fresh Chick-fil-A menu, as well as outstanding service! It is our pleasure to serve you!”
